Review: Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner

In my opinion, hair care is the most confusing part of taking care of your body. so, i tend to stick with pretty much the same shampoo and conditioner range usually (Tresemme or Herbal essences) but as I was in Poundland the other day I thought I'd take a look at what hair care they had to offer.

Seeing as Argan Oil has been raved about so much in the beauty industry in the past few years I decided to pick this Xpel Argan oil shampoo and conditioner. I must admit I wasn't expecting much seeing as this only cost a pound but I was pleasantly surprised.

These products claim to revive hair and give a soft and shiny finish. Which I do agree with. After using this product my hair felt light and nourished and smelt amazing which stuck around throughout the day.

I also love the packaging, in my opinion its up to date, clean and inviting which along with the price sold the product to me.

The shampoo has a thin, creamy texture and a pearl finish. I found it spread through my hair easily and a little went a long way which with my long thick hair is a massive bonus for me.
The conditioner has more of a thick consistency but still had no problem with evenly distributing it through my hair.
Both these products smell gorgeous and definitely a bargain for the price. This product will certainly be on my shopping list in the future.

I would love to know how you felt about this product if you have tried it, or if not would this interest you and why? Feel free to leave a comment.

I'll talk to you soon x

Pamper Evening

Sometimes, when i'm feeling down, if my body's beginning to feel slightly sluggish and in need of some good TLC the first thing i think of  is a good old pamper evening. A night where I take a few hours, collect a few of my favorite products shut everything out so it's just me and my thoughts inside my four walls.
I'm afraid you might see a pattern begin to appear in the product I use.The reason for this is that I'm the type of person that once I find a product I like I will try the whole range and stick with it until another, (in my opinion) better range comes along.
The products I used

So I begin by running a bath and lighting my favorite candle (from Douces Senteurs De Fleurs). Whilst I'm waiting for the bath to fill I remove all my makeup. When doing this, the first thing I do is wash my hands using Lush Mr Punch (from the christmas collection). I use Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean to remove most of my makeup then take a cotton pad and garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner to remove any further stubborness . When my skin is clean and free from any impurities I take a face mask and apply a thick layer.

Then it's time to jump in and relax

After about ten minutes I wash the mask off and begin my hair routine ( I will be doing another post on my hair routine so won't explain in too much detail) I wash my hair using Elvive nutri-gloss sparkling shampoo. After this I wash my body using soap and glory clean on me shower gel. Then apply a layer  of elvive conditioner and rub a body scrub over my body while waiting for the conditioner to do it's magic.

I get out and wrap my hair in a towel turban and depending on the time of year I use a moisturising lotion, this time I used Sanqtuary Body Souffle. I then jump into some of my favorite pj's and finish my hair routine, applying hair oils and blow drying.

I finish my evening by sitting in front of the TV using my favorite hand cream and painting my nails. This time I used a nails inc. varnish.

So that's it. I find doing this routine every now and again really relaxing and rewarding on my body so if you're feeling stressed or your hectic life is just getting on top of you I'd highly recommend you give it a go.

I love trying new products, what are your favourite products? Any tips on how I could improve the routine? Let me know...

Bye Bye for now xx

New start, New ideas

So, as I explained in my last post there are a few difficult changes going on in my life at the moment. Going through this I have decided to begin a new project. Re-decorating my bedroom.

I last decorated it a few years ago and by now it's starting to look a bit run down. I've been thinking of giving it a lick of paint for a while but now, after everything why not give it a full blown makeover.

So i'm thinking I'll keep it the same sort of theme, girly and vintage with pastels being the main colours.

And being on a budget b&m seemed like a great place to start looking.

So here's a summary of what I bought.

I love shopping at B&M, the products are cheap but are still of quite good quality. But it's one of those shops that you can either be lucky and find some great bargains or be leaving with the same empty trolley you came in with.

This time however I think I got quite lucky. I only bought three items but they were exactly what I was looking for.

so here are some close up's and prices of what i bought:

Tea Party photo strip: £2.99

cream 3 pack ceramic hanging wall hearts: £3.99

small cream bird cage: £2.99

cream heart shaped plate: £1.99

hanging wall with lights: £4.99

Then, after spending a good half an hour of my short but sweet shopping spree at B&M I decided it would be a good idea to have a walk around the range because even though it's a little more expensive the products are still cheaper than most stores and are of amazing quality.

cake stand:  £11.99/£12.99

pink candle with butterfly: £3.99

pink roses with cream pot: £2.99

Hopefully you enjoyed this quick post in the first of this short series. I will be posting more hauls, DIY projects and finally the progress I'm making on re-decorating my room then finally images once it's been finished. I could really use some cute ideas so feel free to comment if any come to mind <3

About me

Hey!

My name is Jess, I'm 17 and am currently a sixth form student studying Business, Design and in September I'm hoping to begin studying nail art in college.

Lately my life has made a dramatic, unexpected change and therefore decided I needed something to take my mind off everything going on around me. I have enjoyed reading and scrolling through random blogs for a few years now and have been waiting for the right time to begin my own, until now I have never found anything i thought interesting enough to talk about or I have been too busy to sit down and think of what to say but now that I have nothing to interrupt me I can't think of a better opportunity.

My first love is home design but makeup and anything else beauty related comes a close second. Therefore I am dedicating this blog to anything design, beauty or lifestyle related.

I'm hoping to share my thoughts, ideas and anything else possible with anyone who may be interested in reading, but mostly I am doing this as a sort of diary to read back to myself.

So there we go, a short and cheerful insight into what this page is all about, I hope what I write will interest a few and i'm looking forward to many great posts.
